Featuring 16 10/100Base-TX PoE ports and 2 100/1000Base-T/SFP combo ports, the DES-1018MPV2 unmanaged switch enables users to easily connect and power PoE-compatible devices such as network cameras via Ethernet cables and is the optimal solution for video surveillance deployments.
Multiple modes of operation The DES-1018MPV2 features two DIP switches which enable two additional modes of operation: Isolation and Extended.
In standard mode (both DIP switches are in the OFF position), traffic can flow between all ports on the switch, and they operate like ports on a typical unmanaged switch.
In Isolation mode, traffic cannot be transmitted between ports 1-16, but each can exchange traffic with ports 17 and 18.
In Extended mode, the maximum data and power distance on ports 1-8 will be increased to 250m1.
Power and Data Transfer over Extended Distance The data transmission and power feeding distance over the Ethernet cable on ports 1-8 of the DES-1018MPV2 switch can be extended up to 250m1 by using Extended mode. In addition, cascading the DPE-302GE PoE repeaters will further extend this distance (up to 650m).
Power over Ethernet The 16 ports of the DES-1018MPV2 switch support the IEEE 802.3af/802.3at PoE standards. Each port supplies up to 15.4W/30W of power for a total PoE budget of 247W, allowing users to connect IEEE 802.3af/802.3at compliant devices to the DES-1018MPV2. This allows equipment to be placed in hard-to-reach locations regardless of the location of electrical outlets and minimizes cabling.
Uplink ports The DES-1018MPV2 is equipped with two 100/1000Base-T/SFP uplink combo ports for connecting a network video recorder (NVR), storage, server or upstream switch.
Plug-and-play installation The DES-1018MPV2 switch supports Plug-and-play technology, which allows you to connect devices to it without having to make additional settings. 802.3x flow control on each port minimizes packet loss when the incoming port buffer is full, ensuring reliable connectivity for all connected devices.
Automatic MDI/MDIX polarity detection Support for automatic MDI/MDIX polarity detection on all copper ports, eliminating the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch.
