DES-3200-28

DES-3200 switches are part of the D-Link 2 level line of managed switches designed for Metro Ethernet networks (ETTX and FTTX) and corporate networks. The switches in this series are equipped with 8/16/24/48 10/100 Mbit/s Fast Ethernet ports, as well as 1/2/4 Gigabit Ethernet/SFP combo ports. DES-3200-10/18 switches are made in a 9/11-inch wide enclosure and are equipped with a passive cooling system suitable for both desktop applications and for installation in telecommunications and distribution cabinets. DES switches-3200-26,28,28/ ME,28F,52 with a height of 1U are designed for installation in a 19-inch rack and provide connection via copper or optics (24/48 ports) at a speed of 100 Mbit/s. All devices in the series have a practical design with 1, 2 or 4 Gigabit Ethernet/SFP combo ports, which provide bandwidth up to 4 Gbit/s and allow these switches to be used in a ring topology. DES Switchboard-3200-28/ ME is made specifically for use in telecommunication cabinets, where operators and engineers have access only to the front panel of the device and need quick troubleshooting. All interfaces are located on the front panel of the DES-3200-28/ ME, including a connector for connecting the power cable, which meets the requirements of large networks. In addition, the DES switch-3200-28/ ME is equipped with a "dry contacts" connector for event detection and warning alarms. DES-3200-28F is an ideal solution for deploying FTTX networks, allowing you to bring a fiber-optic line directly to the subscriber device. Due to the use of fiber-optic communication lines by the DES-3200-28F switch for connecting subscribers, the data transmission distance is significantly increased (up to 20 km) and the impact of crosstalk inherent in a copper cable is eliminated. DES-3200-28P/52P switches comply with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE (Power Supply via Ethernet Cable) standards and provide power up to 15.4 watts per port and up to 30 watts on the first four/eight ports. Support for PoE/PoE+ technology by devices such as video/IP phones, wireless access points and IP cameras allows them to be powered directly from the switch via Ethernet cables, which greatly simplifies network deployment. All DES-3200 series switches are equipped with 2 or 4 Gigabit SFP ports, which allows you to choose the type of network topology: "ring", "tree" or mixed type.

Safety and reliability
DES-3200 series switches support port/host-based 802.1x access control, the ability to create a guest VLAN, as well as RADIUS/TACACS/XTACACS/TACACS+ authentication when connected to the switch. The IP-MAC-Port Binding function binds the user's IP address and MAC address to a specific port number on the switch, thereby prohibiting the user from changing network settings independently. Moreover, thanks to the DHCP Snooping function, the switch automatically detects IP/MAC address pairs issued by the server, tracking DHCP packets and storing them in the IMPB white list. These functions play an important role in maintaining network security. The built-in D-Link Safeguard Engine function provides identification and prioritization of packets intended for processing directly by the switch processor in order to prevent malicious attacks and neutralize the impact of parasitic traffic on the switch CPU. In addition, the DES-3200 supports access control lists (ACLs). This functionality provides administrators with the ability to restrict access to network services and does not affect the performance of the switch.

Fault tolerance/High performance
DES-3200 series switches support the 802.1D-2004 edition, 802.1w and 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree (MSTP) protocols. STP protocols allow you to organize a backup data transmission route used in the event of a malfunction of any switch on the main route of network traffic. The switches also support channel aggregation based on the 802.3ad (LACP) and 802.1AX standards, which allows you to group several ports, while increasing bandwidth and increasing fault tolerance of connections between network devices. The switches support the 802.1p standard for quality of service management (QoS). In addition, traffic can be prioritized based on TOS, DSCP labels, the client's MAC address or IP address, VLAN number, TCP/UDP port number, protocol type, or based on the contents of the packet specified by the user. This functionality is especially relevant when providing IPTV services. Also, the DES-3200 series supports the Voice VLAN functionality, which is a separate vlan into which voice traffic is automatically placed, in order to process it later with a higher priority level than the rest of the traffic.

Traffic and bandwidth management
The bandwidth management feature allows network administrators to determine the bandwidth for each port in increments up to 8 Kbit/s for outgoing and incoming traffic. The switches also support storm protection functionality (Storm Control), which allows you to get rid of excessive broadcast/multicast traffic. The port mirroring feature simplifies traffic diagnostics and also helps administrators monitor network performance. The DES-3200 series switches support the "Two Speeds, Three Marking Colors" and "One Speed, Three Marking Colors" (trTCM/srTCM) markers, which allow, by prioritizing streams, to guarantee maximum throughput to important traffic.

Multicast
DES-3200 series switches support a full set of L2 functions for multicast, including IGMP Snooping, IGMP filtering, Fast Leave. Thanks to the support of this functionality, the DES-3200 switch provides the ability to work with IPTV services that are in growing demand in the market.

IGMP/MLD Host-based Snooping enables multiple multicast group clients to connect to a single network interface. When using the ISM VLAN function, multicast traffic is transmitted in a separate VLAN in order to efficiently consume bandwidth. ISM VLAN profiles allow users to quickly and easily assign/replace preset settings on multicast subscriber ports.

OAM
DES-3200 series switches support cable diagnostics to check the status of network cables and identify the cause of cable malfunction. The 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) function provides tools for monitoring, as well as for troubleshooting complex Ethernet networks, allowing providers to perform connection checks and quickly localize network problems by identifying users who have encountered these problems. The 802.3ah Ethernet OAM, Dying Gasp and D-Link Unidirectional Link Detection (DULD) functions allow you to improve network manageability and increase connection stability, as well as detect malfunctions.

Management functions
DES-3200 series switches support standard management protocols such as SNMP, RMON, Telnet, SSH/SSL. The user-friendly web interface provides ease of management. Automatic configuration of DHCP is an advanced management feature that allows administrators to set settings in advance and save them on the TFTP server and automatically apply to switches in the process of obtaining an IP address from the server, which makes network configuration easier and faster. Support for the LLDP and LLDP-MED protocols allows you to detect the equipment used in the Ethernet network. According to the search result, the administrator can easily apply the settings to the detected devices and get a graphical representation of the topology using the Network management System (NMS).
The D-Link Single IP Management (SIM) function simplifies and increases the efficiency of management tasks by enabling simultaneous configuration of multiple switches, monitoring and maintenance from any workplace using a Web browser. Moreover, DES-3200 series switches support D-View 6.0 software. D-View 6.0 is a network management system that allows you to improve the most important characteristics for network operation, such as operability, reliability, fault tolerance and security. D-View 6.0 provides network administrators with a set of useful tools for effective management of settings, performance and security, as well as error detection.

IPv6 support
DES-3200 series switches have successfully passed IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2 certification, which guarantees the operation of switches in IPv6 networks. In addition, this series supports the functions of both IPv4/v6 protocol stacks, allowing switches to act as a bridge between IPv4 and IPv6 networks. With the constant expansion of the network, the security problem is the most acute. To solve it, the DES-3200 series supports such functions as IPv6 ACL, IMPBv6 and L3 Control Packet Filtering, designed to protect against network attacks in IPv6 networks.
