The DGS-1100-05PDV2 EasySmart series configurable switch with 5 10/100/1000Base-T ports (2 ports with PoE support, 1 PD-port with PoE power support) is designed for use in small and medium business networks. The DGS-1100-05PDV2's management, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and power-saving technologies make it suitable for a variety of applications.
D-Link Green energy-saving technology Switch DGS-1100-05PDV2 complies with the standard IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet and consumes less power at a low traffic volume. The use of EEE-compatible devices allows small and medium-sized businesses to save money by reducing operating costs, including those associated with the purchase of equipment for cooling. The DGS-1100-05PDV2 also supports D-Link Green technology, which automatically reduces power consumption. The switch detects the connection status of each port and automatically shuts down inactive ports.
Easy Management The DGS-1100-05PDV2 switch supports management with a special utility D-Link Network Assistant, as well as via the Web-interface. The utility allows you to detect D-Link Smart Series switches belonging to the same L2 network segment, which simplifies initial installation of the switch. Advanced configuration and basic configuration of discovered devices, such as password changes and software upgrades, are available to the administrator. A user-friendly Web-based interface gives network administrators the ability to manage the switch at the port level. The interface is accessible via a Web-browser and allows you to control the switch from any computer connected to the network.
Surveillance VLAN and bandwidth management DGS-1100-05PDV2 switch supports Surveillance VLAN technology for video surveillance deployments. This feature places video traffic on a separate VLAN where it is assigned the highest priority. Support for Surveillance VLANs ensures quality video traffic and protection, reducing the cost associated with purchasing additional hardware. Bandwidth management features allow network administrators to reserve bandwidth for applications that require the highest priority or high bandwidth.
Advanced feature set The DGS-1100-05PDV2 switch supports advanced security features such as Static MAC, Network Storm Protection and IGMP Snooping. Static MAC function allows you to create a "white" list of MAC-addresses, allowing access only to authorized devices. The Network Storm Protection feature is required to limit broadcast, multicast or unknown unicast traffic to a specified threshold. The switch blocks or discards packets that fall under this restriction, as large amounts of such traffic can cause network congestion. The IGMP Snooping feature can reduce the amount of multicast traffic and increase network performance.
Easy troubleshooting The DGS-1100-05PDV2 switch supports cable diagnostics and Loopback Detection. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops and automatically shuts down the port where a loop is detected. The Cable Diagnostic function is designed to determine the state of the twisted pair cable and the type of cable faults.
Power over Ethernet Power to the DGS-1100-05PDV2 switch is supplied via Ethernet cable only (Power over Ethernet (PoE)) 802.3af/at through port 5 (PD-port). PoE support provides DGS-1100-05PDV2 connects to a local network and provides power over a single Ethernet-cable, which simplifies installation and allows the switch to be placed in places where there are no power outlets.
The 2 ports on this switch support the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. Each PoE port supplies power up to 15.4 watts for a total switch budget of 18 watts (when powered DGS-1100-05PDV2 PoE 802.3at through PD-port) or 8 watts (when powered DGS-1100-05PDV2 PoE 802.3af through PD-port), which allows users to connect devices compatible with the standard 802.3af to DGS-1100-05PDV2. This allows equipment to be placed in hard-to-reach locations, regardless of the location of electrical outlets, and minimizes cabling.
