Description The D-Link DXS-3610-54S switch is a new high-performance switch that switches and routes traffic at speeds up to 10 Gbps. The 1U height and front-to-back ventilation direction make the DXS-3610-54S convenient to use at the aggregation level in enterprises and campuses. The DXS-3610-54S switch has 48 fixed 10GBase-X SFP+ ports and 6 fixed 100GBase-X QSFP28 ports. Depending on system requirements, 100G ports are used for stacking or uplink connection.
Functional use The DXS-3610-54S switch provides high-performance 10 Gigabit data transmission with a switching matrix up to 2.16 Tbps. The switch is equipped with hot-swappable power supplies and fans, which provides a high level of reliability and fault tolerance. The modular power scheme allows you to choose a network with direct or alternating current, depending on the installation location. When installing two power supplies, they will distribute the load, and also carry out power redundancy according to the 1 + 1 scheme. The DXS-3610-54S also includes a modular fan layout. Five fans can duplicate each other, providing a redundant cooling system. If one of the fans fails or the temperature rises, the speed of the remaining fans increases automatically.
Universal Software The DXS-3610-54S switch supports two software versions: Standard Image (SI) and Enhanced Image (EI).
The Standard Image (SI) edition includes a wide range of Layer 2 features, VLAN, multicast, Quality of Service (QoS), security, data center, static routing, RIP, VRRP and OSPF features.
Enhanced Image (EI) version 1 supports IPv4/v6 routing, including BGP and L3 multicast features such as IGMP, MLD, PIM-DM, SM, SDM, SSM, and DVMRP. Enhanced Image (EI) also supports L2/L3 MPLS VPN, allowing you to install the DXS-3610-54S switch as an enterprise network master router or MPLS network aggregation switch.
The Switch Resource Management (SRM) function allows you to optimize the distribution of switch resources for solving various network problems. Depending on the choice of SRM hardware mode (IP Mode / LAN Mode / L2 VPN Mode), you can adjust the size of the main tables of the second and third levels for maximum switch performance.
Software Defined Networking (SDN) The DXS-3610-54S switch supports software-defined networking (SDN), providing operators with a wide range of new options for designing, building and managing networks. The key principle of SDN is the separation of data transmission and data management processes. Infrastructure management is carried out using the open protocol OpenFlow. Support for SDN allows you to build adaptive networks with centralized management, implement cloud services and simplify network operations.
fault tolerance In addition to standard Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), and Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), the DXS-3610-54S supports Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) and FlexLink technologies. ERPS provides the minimum recovery time of the ring after a failure. FlexLink technology improves link resiliency on specified switch ports by providing link redundancy without the use of STP or LBD.
Security and performance The DXS-3610-54S switch provides a wide range of security features, including multilevel access lists (ACLs) and user authentication (802.1X) via TACACS+ and RADIUS. For enhanced performance and security, the DXS-3610-54S provides VLAN support, including GVRP and 802.1Q. For the stable operation of network services such as VoIP, as well as video conferencing, the switch supports QoS functions that ensure that time-critical network services are served in priority mode. To protect the switch from malicious traffic, the DXS-3610-54S implements the D-Link Safeguard Engine.
Flexible management The DXS-3610-54S switch is managed using the D-Link Network Assistant utility, command line interface (CLI), Web interface. SNMP support provides centralized management of a large number of devices, and the ability to manage the switch through an independent dedicated Out-of-band port is also available. The presence of a console port makes the setup process more convenient, since an additional adapter is not required to connect the console. The presence of a USB port allows you to save system logs, configurations and software images to external USB drives. Support for DHCP Auto-configuration and Auto-image functions makes it possible to download a previously created configuration to several switches automatically. In addition, the DXS-3610-54S supports the OpenFlow 1.3 protocol, 1 Software upgrade from Standard Image (SI) to Enhanced Image (EI) for the DXS-3610-54S switch is performed using the DXS-3610-54S-SE-LIC.
