The DGS-1100-06/ME customizable switch has 5 10/100/1000Base-T ports and 1 SFP port. Designed for deploying Metro Ethernet networks, this switch is built in a rugged chassis and supports Multicast to provide IPTV service. The 5 10/100/1000 Mbps ports have built-in static protection up to 6kV. The SFP optical port makes it possible to build FTTx networks.
Multicast DGS-1100-06/ME provides an opportunity to work with IPTV-services or any other multicast-based traffic, which is in increasing demand in the market, thanks to the support of functions such as IGMP Snooping, Limited IP Multicast (IP-address restriction), ISM VLAN and MLD Snooping. These features ensure optimal bandwidth while maintaining high data quality. The Limited IP Multicast feature allows multicast profiles to be created and associated with a port or port range to allow or deny connection requests to a particular group (channel) sent by users. Using profiles greatly simplifies IPTV service management in case user changes the service package. With ISM VLAN (IGMP Snooping Multicast VLAN) multicast traffic is forwarded to a separate VLAN for efficient bandwidth consumption. ISM VLANs require configuration on both the access switch and the L3 switch of the aggregation layer. Bandwidth savings are achieved when clients view the same channel on different VLANs and do not need a separate copy of multicast traffic for each of them when using ISM VLANs. MLD Snooping improves multicast efficiency and reduces costs when migrating to IPv6.
High performance and fault tolerance DGS-1100-06/ME switch supports a wide range of features to ensure smooth operation and simplify management. Support for Loopback Detection prevents loops in the network. The DGS-1100-06/ME also supports QoS (Quality of Service). Packets can be classified based on content and scheduled with different processing priorities. A prioritization mechanism helps differentiate traffic based on service quality requirements.
A bandwidth management feature allows network administrators to define bandwidth per port with a minimum of 64 kbps for upstream and downstream traffic. The switches also support Storm Control functionality, which eliminates unnecessary traffic.
Security DGS-1100-06/ME also supports security functions. Thanks to the Static MAC mechanism only authorized devices can be allowed access. Port Security allows you to limit the number of MAC addresses studied on a port and prevent flood attacks aimed at overflowing the switching table.
Authentication The DGS-1100-06/ME supports port/host-based 802.1x authentication as well as local base or RADIUS server-based authentication. Administrators can also place unauthenticated users on Guest VLANs and assign them restricted access rights.
Managing The switch can be configured through Telnet, SNMP and HTTP. Convenient Web-based interface for easy management.
LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) allows network equipment to notify the local network of its existence and characteristics, so that according to the search result, you can easily apply the settings to the detected devices and get a graphic image of the topology. In addition, the switch supports a cable diagnostic function to check the health of network cables and identify the cause of the malfunction.
Troubleshooting The DGS-1100-06/ME switch allows administrators to perform quick diagnostics and troubleshooting. The diagnostic function allows you to determine the length of the connected cable, as well as display information about its status. The support of this function allows for easy troubleshooting. The DGS-1100-06/ME also supports IEEE802.3ah, a link layer protocol that allows administrators to monitor the network status and locate faults on switch ports quickly.
