Gigabit switches of the DGS-3000 series are part of the D-Link Level 2 line of managed switches and are designed for use in Metro Ethernet networks and campus networks. The DGS-3000-28LP switch is equipped with 24 10/100/1000Base-T ports with PoE support and 4 1000Base-X SFP ports.
Power over Ethernet 24 ports of this switch support the IEEE 802.3at PoE standard. Each PoE port supplies up to 30 watts of power with a total switch budget of 193 watts, which allows users to connect devices compatible with the 802.3at standard to the DGS-3000-28LP. This allows you to place the equipment in hard-to-reach places regardless of the location of electrical outlets and minimize cable laying.
Reliability Protection against static electricity of 6 kV ensures the stability of the copper ports to the induced voltage and prevents damage to the switch and the devices connected to it. The DGS-3000-28LP switch supports Ethernet Ring Protection Switching technology (ERPS, ITU-T G.8032), thanks to which the recovery time of the ring after a failure does not exceed 50 ms. In addition, the switch supports port aggregation functionality based on the 802.1AX and 802.3ad standards, the use of which allows you to combine several ports into a group, while increasing bandwidth and increasing fault tolerance of connections to ensure uninterrupted operation and load distribution between multiple network devices.
Quality of Service (QoS) The DGS-3000-28LP switch provides a set of multi-level QoS/CoS functions that ensure that latency-critical network services such as VoIP, videoconferencing, IPTV and video surveillance will be serviced with proper priority. Packet classification is based on various header fields or user-defined packet content, providing the possibility of prioritizing traffic.
Access Control Policies The DGS-3000-28LP switch supports authentication mechanisms such as 802.1X, Web-based access control (WAC) and MAC-based access control, providing strict access control to network resources. After authentication, individual policies such as VLAN affiliation, QoS policies, and ACL rules can be assigned to each node. In addition, the switch supports Microsoft® NAP (Network Access Protection) technology, which allows users to deny access to the network to computers that do not meet the established security requirements.
Management The D-Link Single IP Management (SIM) function simplifies and accelerates the solution of management tasks by providing the ability to configure, monitor and maintain multiple switches by connecting to a single IP address from any computer with Web browser support. This technology allows you to manage individual physical switches in a virtual stack using a single IP address. In addition, the DGS-3000-28LP switch supports management tools such as Web interface, SSH, Telnet and console, as well as standardized protocols such as SNMP, RMON and SSL.
Security and authentication The DGS-3000-28LP switch supports user/device authentication functions, including node-based authentication, which provides precise access control for each network device. RADIUS support is implemented for integration with billing systems and services. This switch also supports the IP-MAC-Port Binding function, which allows you to control the access of computers to the network based on their IP and MAC addresses, as well as the connection port, thus expanding access control capabilities. The ARP Spoofing attack prevention function protects the network, including from Man-in-the-Middle attacks.
