The WebSmart DGS-1210-10, a customizable switch with 8 10/100/1000Base-T ports and 2 1000Base-X SFP ports, supports D-Link Green technology and advanced management and security features for high performance and network scalability. Management features include SNMP, Web-based management, the D-Link Network Assistant utility, and a simplified command line interface (CLI) via Telnet. The DGS-1210-10 supports Auto Voice VLAN, providing maximum priority for "voice" traffic. This switch has a passive cooling system that ensures quiet operation and prolongs the life of the device.
Power saving Thanks to D-Link Green technology, the DGS-1210-10 switch saves power without compromising performance or functionality. The switch detects the connection status of each port and automatically suspends inactive ports. The DGS-1210-10 has the chipset which saves energy costs.
Layer 2 Features The DGS-1210-10 offers a full set of Layer 2 features, including IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). The IEEE 802.3x flow control feature allows you to optimize the switch's workload to improve data transmission reliability. Supporting speeds of up to 2000Mbps on each port in full-duplex mode, the switch provides the high performance needed to connect your workstations. The switch supports cable diagnostics and Loopback Detection. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops and automatically shuts down the port where a loop is detected. The Cable Diagnostics are used to determine the condition of the twisted pair cable and the type of cable fault.
Auto Surveillance VLAN and Auto Voice VLAN The DGS-1210-10 supports Auto Surveillance VLAN (ASV) and Auto Voice VLAN, making it ideal for video surveillance and IP telephony deployments. The feature automatically identifies video and VoIP equipment on the network and separates them into separate VLANs, allowing each to receive the highest priority for video and voice traffic. Support for Auto Surveillance VLAN and Auto Voice VLAN ensures stable video and VoIP applications, quality transmission and maximum protection for multimedia traffic regardless of overall network load. Additionally, the DGS-1210-10 features automatic detection of ONVIF-compliant equipment1, such as network cameras and storage devices, as well as a Web UI mode for easy monitoring of video surveillance systems1.
Network security The D-Link Safeguard Engine feature provides an effective mechanism to protect the switch against viruses and malicious traffic. 802.1X port authentication allows the use of an external RADIUS server for user authentication. In addition, Access Control Lists (ACLs) enhance network security by filtering out traffic originating from unauthorized MAC/IP addresses. The DGS-1210-10 also supports ARP Spoofing, which protects the network from attacks that can alter or delay traffic by sending spoofed ARP messages. In order to prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the switch uses access control lists to block packets containing false ARP messages. To enhance the security, the DHCP Server Screening feature denies access to unauthorized DHCP servers.
Convenient operation The D-Link Network Assistant automatically detects and displays D-Link WebSmart switches belonging to the same L2 network segment. With this utility, the user does not need to change the IP address of his computer, which simplifies the initial installation of the switch. The user has access to advanced configuration and basic settings of detected devices, such as changing the password and updating the software. The DGS-1210-10 switch also supports D-View 7 and a simplified command line interface (CLI) via Telnet. D-View 7 is a network management system that allows you to manage the most important parameters such as availability, reliability, flexibility and security.
