The DGS-1520-52 Layer 3 Managed Stackable Switch is designed for SME/SMB networks. It has 48 10/100/1000Base-T ports, 2 10GBase-T ports and 2 10GBase-X SFP+ ports for stacking or uplink.
10GBase-T and SFP+ ports for stacking or uplink connections The 10GBase-T and SFP+ ports of the DGS-1520-52 switch allow users to stack up to 8 devices in a line or ring topology in a physical stack using optional passive direct connect cables or compatible SFP+ transceivers1. The 10GBase-T and SFP+ ports can also be used for other purposes, such as connecting the switch to a larger network. Users can easily configure and manage any DGS-1520 Series switch in a single stack. Supporting a bandwidth of up to 80 Gbps, the DGS-1520-52 switch can connect to backbone servers while providing high performance.
Network traffic routing The switch supports static routing, which makes it possible to connect different groups of users in different VLAN segments in the network. The device provides the ability to manage routing within the LAN, which significantly reduces the load on the network router, which can then be tasked with handling only external routing. In addition, the DGS-1520-52 switch supports RIP and OSPF.
Layer 2 features The DGS-1520-52 switch supports a full set of Layer 2 features, including IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP). IEEE 802.3x flow control allows servers to be directly connected to the switch for fast and reliable data transmission. In addition, the switch has cable diagnostic and Loopback Detection features that allow administrators to quickly and easily locate and fix network problems. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops and automatically shuts down the port where a loopback is detected. Cable Diagnostics are used to identify the type of cable faults.
Auto Surveillance VLAN and Auto Voice VLAN The DGS-1520-52 supports Auto Surveillance VLAN (ASV) and Auto Voice VLAN, making it ideal for video surveillance and IP telephony deployments. The feature automatically identifies video and VoIP equipment on the network and separates them into separate VLANs, allowing each to receive the highest priority for video and voice traffic. Support for Auto Surveillance VLAN and Auto Voice VLAN ensures stable video and VoIP applications, high-quality delivery and maximum protection for multimedia traffic regardless of overall network traffic.
Network security To protect the switch from malicious traffic, the DGS-1520-52 features the D-Link Safeguard Engine. The device supports MAC-based access control and Web Interface (WAC), allowing for easy network deployment and eliminating the need for client software. Port-based 802.1X authentication allows you to use an external RADIUS server for user authentication. The DGS-1520-52 also supports ARP Spoofing, which protects the network from attacks that can alter or delay traffic due to an attacker sending fake ARP messages. To enhance security, DHCP Server Screening is used to deny access to unauthorized DHCP servers.
IPv6 support The switch supports IPv6 functionality, including MLD Snooping, IPv6 security, and IPv6 QoS, making it easy to integrate the equipment into next-generation networks. In addition, DGS-1520-52 supports IPv4/v6 Dual Stack, which enables switches to act as a bridge between IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
Flexible management DGS-1520-52 supports Single IP Management (SIM), which allows you to manage a virtual stack of 32 devices via a single IP address. This feature greatly simplifies the management of both small workgroups and telecommunications centers, while allowing you to scale your network and increase bandwidth when necessary. The DGS-1520-52 switch supports management via the D-Link Network Assistant utility and Web interface, which allows administrators to manage the network remotely. DGS-1520-52 also supports management through a command line interface (CLI) and SNMP protocol, allowing for centralized management in a large network. In addition, the switch can be managed through the console port, which provides access to the device even if the connection is lost or the switch is overloaded by malicious traffic. The DGS-1520-52 Switch is supported by
